Students
InsideOut (Jr. High)
Our passion is to see Junior High students transformed from the inside out…who love God and people above all else.
Key Verse:
Fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out.—Romans 12:2
Programs
Programs are not our primary focus—people are the primary focus. However, programs are needed and can be effective when they are rooted in relationships. Programs exist to build and strengthen relations:
- Relationship with Christ
- Relationships with people
Key Truths:

We have a limited time with our Junior High students. At the most we will get two years with them. There are so many truths in the Bible that we long for them to understand. However, there are some key foundational truths that we believe are vital for all Jr. High students to embrace. We call these core truths the
Fab Five.
The Fab Five
- God can be trusted (He’s faithful)—Numbers 23:19
Look and see how God remains faithful and true to His promises and to people. Think about how this applies to your life. God can be trusted. If He promises to do something, He will!
- God’s way is best—Genesis 3: Adam and Eve
God knows what He’s talking about! And He wants the very best for you. If He tells us to do something (or to not do something) it’s because that’s the very best way. Is there a command to obey? If you’ve broken the command, is there a sin you need to confess?
- It’s all about Him (for His Honor and Glory)—Isaiah 48:9, 11
We often think God is most concerned about us and we read the Bible thinking we’re the main character. While God is concerned about us, HE’s the MAIN character, and He’s mostly concerned with His Honor and Glory. When you read a verse in the Bible, think about how this points back to God. At first this might sound a little egotistical, but remember, God’s way is best (see #2). You see, God knows we become like what we worship. He wants us to become more like Him. It’s kinda like the saying—“you are what you eat!”
- God’s got a plan for you (there’s a purpose)—Ephesians 2:10
As you read through the Bible, you’re on a journey, a treasure hunt. God’s got a plan just for you! What is the lesson He wants you to learn from the passage you read?
- So What?!—James 1:22-23
After you’ve thought about the first four points, you have to ask, so what? If you read a portion from the Bible and learn something, that’s great—but if you don’t do anything with that knowledge, it’s a waste. God wants you to apply what you learned to your life. He wants you to DO something. How are you going to live out what you learned? But REMEMBER, the ONLY way you can live out what you learned is by depending on God’s power. He doesn’t want you to take what you learned and try to work hard at it. He wants you to depend on Him to do it. Stay connected to the power source!
