To love God and people above all else
Ed Grudier, Global Missions Pastor

Ed Grudier

Senior Associate Pastor (Missions, Staff, Budget)

Ed grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and came to faith when he was 18 years old. Shortly after getting married, God began to work in the hearts of both Ed and Kathy, instilling a deep desire to see the nations reached with the good news of salvation. They served for 14 years in cross-cultural ministry, most of the time in Turkey, along with their two children Philip and Amy. Ed's ministry focus at Cherrydale is to help those who are Knowing and Growing to find practical ministry outlets to Go and share the good news, particularly to those who have never had a chance to hear.

Ed jogs, mostly because he is middle-aged, but he loves to play basketball, play board games with his wife and children, and eat mint chocolate chip ice cream.

Funniest and/or fondest childhood memory
Definitely the most impactful childhood memory (though it was neither funny nor fond), was disobeying my father and driving our riding lawnmower. It ended with me crashing through a cabinet he had spent the previous three weeks making, and plowing to a stop in the back wall of the garage . . . and then having the next five hours to think about him coming home from work.

Favorite Scripture Passage
Lamentations 3:21-26

Trademark saying
Anything with the words "Unreached People Groups" in it.

If I had a different job I would be . . .
a missionary to an Unreached People Group.

Nobody knows that I still . . .

leave love notes around the house for my wife.

If I could ask God one questions it would be:
With over 7 billion people in the world, why have You poured out so much grace, mercy, and kindness to me?"
