The Elders completed their retreat over the weekend (May 3-4) where they prayerfully and thoughtfully evaluated the two remaining candidates. At the end of the retreat, the decision was unanimous: present Pastor Tom Oostdyk to the congregation as the Lead Pastor candidate. The Elders strongly sensed the presence of God among them as they deliberated and voted, and are grateful to the congregation for joining them in prayer during their retreat.

We now enter the third phase of our process to identify and affirm a new Lead Pastor. The congregation has the responsibility to pray and evaluate the recommended candidate over the next two months.

At our July 21 Members Gathering, the congregation will vote whether to affirm Pastor Tom for the position of Lead Pastor. If affirmed, Tom will assume the role of Lead Pastor starting September 1.

All members should make it a high priority to attend the next Members Gathering on Sunday, May 19. In the coming days, the Elders will provide more information on the search process and what to expect and how to be involved over the next two months.
