Five eggs, 1/2 lb. of beans, 5 lbs. of rice, 12 oz. of cooking oil is what each Cuban is allowed to purchase per month for each member of a family. For most, this costs almost a month’s salary. All over Havana we saw long lines for gasoline.
In the midst of all of the stress and trauma of daily living, the Spirit of God is at work in the lives of many.
Ann’s course was Principles of Bible Study: guidelines on how to read, understand and apply personally God’s Word. It was exhilarating to see the openness and enthusiasm as believers began to absorb the basics of Bible study. The testimonies at the end of her time demonstrated how God used this teaching in a unique way for each who attended.
Bob’s ministry was in Bello 26, a neglected community outside of Havana. For five days, believers gathered to hear the exposition of God’s Word. We studied the implications of death, descriptions of heaven and hell, suicide, cremation and euthanasia. Many were overwhelmed at how the Holy Spirit changed misconceptions and convicted them regarding areas in their lives which led to repentance.
Once again, we thank you, our faithful prayer and financial supporters, for making another missions adventure into Cuba a success.
