Dear Cherrydale Family,
Our Missions & Outreach Pastor Search Team convened for our fifth meeting Monday, March 8. We thank the Lord for three more candidates to whom we are extending invitations to complete an application. God has graciously provided gentlemen with diverse backgrounds and extensive international experience. If all three submit applications, we potentially have five qualified candidates.
Following two weeks of contemplation and prayer, we chose not to grant an interview to a candidate whose application we originally reviewed on February 22. We also voted not to extend an offer to fill out an application to another resume-submitter because we are blessed with stronger candidates. Unless we have new resumes to review on March 22, our next meeting will be April 5, when we will review the three new applications. Our target for Zoom interviews is mid-to-late April.
We welcome your continued prayers for us to:
- Diligently review all submitted materials, sermons, and social media postings
- Identify discerning questions to ask of each candidate who is interviewed
- Have a clear consensus of who to advance for Elder review
