This is our annual winter weekend getaway, open to 8th–12th graders. Saturday will be spent at Wisp Resort, where teens have a variety of activity options (including skiing, snowboarding, and our tuber package.) At the hotel, there will pool time, and general hangout time throughout the weekend. In separate meeting spaces, there will be Bible studies, worship, and large group gatherings. On Sunday, we’ll stop halfway to have lunch and play games at Skycroft Conference Center.
Depart: Cherrydale at 6:00 pm on Friday, Feb. 23
Return: 4:00 pm on Sunday, Feb. 25

2024 Winter Retreat Details
Retreat Packages & Cost
Included in all packages: Transportation, Hotel, Saturday breakfast and lunch at the ski resort, Sunday breakfast and lunch. Evening snacks and drinks are provided both night in our meeting room.
Not Included with any package: Students need to bring around $20 to cover fast food dinner and an extra drink at the resort. Pay at the resort optional extras include helmet rental ($15) and Mountain Coaster ride ($15)
- HANGOUT ONLY: $100 — Spend Saturday at the resort lodge (playing games and hanging out). This is a less exciting option and not encouraged for students unless they have an injury, etc.
- TUBER PACKAGE: $160 — Includes a two-hour tubing session, one escape room, one mountain coaster ride and hangout time at the lodge playing cards and board games.
- LIFT PASS ONLY: $210— For someone who wants to ski/snowboard AND has their own equipment.
- LIFT PASS & RENTAL: $270— Ski/snowboard rental option.
- LIFT/RENTAL/LESSON: $315 — Ski/snowboard rental including a one-hour lesson. In our experience, kids often ditch the lesson and go straight to the bunny hill. We don’t recommend spending the extra $40 unless your teen really wants to take a lesson.
ADD ON MOUNTAIN COASTER PASS TO SKI/BOARD* (Packages 3-5): $15
ADD ON TUBING PASS TO SKI/BOARD* (Packages 3-5): $30
*Add-on activities are first come, first serve at the lodge. If your student is unable to participate in the chosen activity, we will reimburse you for your payment.
Required Forms & Packing List
- All participants under the age of 18 must have a completed Cherrydale Teen Registration form on file. Parents, past registrations are sufficient unless there have been any changes to your teen’s contact, medical, or health insurance info.
- If skiing or snowboarding, please complete the Wisp Resort Rental Agreement Form.

Schedule
- Friday, Feb. 23: Depart from Cherrydale at 6:00 pm. Please eat prior to departure, or bring dinner on the bus with you. We will not stop on the way for dinner. Lodging is at Holiday Inn Express & Suites, Cumberland-La Vale, MD. Youth Group worship service gathering upon arrival.
- Saturday, Feb. 24: Enjoy a variety of indoor and outdoor activities at Wisp Resort, including skiing, snowboarding, tubing, a mountain coaster, and escape room. Teens can also choose to hang out in the lodge, playing cards and board games. When we get back to the hotel we will eat at nearby fast food for dinner, we’ll have a Youth Group worship service, pool time, and general hangout time.
- Sunday, Feb. 25: Depart for Skycroft Conference Center at 9:00 am, where we will begin the day in worship together. We will have lunch in the cafeteria and end the weekend enjoying activities and hanging out in the gym. Pick-up at Cherrydale at 4:00 pm.
