Dr. Alphonse Mehany was born in Egypt but moved to the United States as a small child when his father sought to escape the religious  oppression in Egypt. Alphonse grew up in a Christian home and accepted Christ at aged 10. He has a passion to serve youth, teaching them in California, Arizona, Texas, Louisiana, and Virginia!

Alphonse has been a family physician for over 20 years and is currently a Clinical Associate Professor in Family Medicine with Georgetown University. He and Dianne have been married for almost 18 years and have been blessed with two amazing daughters, Anna (7) and Katie (6). Their family began attending Cherrydale Baptist Church in 2016.

Alphonse has been serving as a group leader for the Youth Ministry. He also teaches the kindergarten Sunday school class with his wife and plays guitar for the worship team.
