Mike grew up overseas in a gospel-centered home as the youngest of three kids. His parents were missionaries who served in Côte d’Ivoire and Ghana in West Africa.

Mike accepted Christ at age 6 when his Dad explained the gospel to him. As a child, Mike believed earnestly but didn’t grasp God’s personal love for him or the depth of his own sin. At age 14, Mike attended a Christian camp where the pastor challenged him to think about the weight of his sin, the sacrifice Christ made on the cross, and the free gift of salvation. At that point, Mike rededicated his life to Christ.

Mike and his wife Lindsay first heard about Cherrydale Baptist Church through a close friend and after moving to Alexandria, began attending in 2014. After years of searching for a church home, they were excited to find a church family rooted in God’s word, passionate about worshiping God, sharing the gospel, and loving people.
