Lessons & Carols | Dec. 12 | 6:30 -8:30 pm
Join us for Cherrydale’s “Lessons and Carols,” an evening of intergenerational worship to celebrate Christmas and enjoy fellowship with one another. Hosted by Cherrydale’s Children’s Ministry, we will have carols sung by various age groups — PreK (3 years) to 5th grade, a middle school acapella group, and an adult choir, along with scripture reading and a nativity play. Afterwards, we will have cookies and cocoa and a live animal nativity scene outside! Please invite friends and neighbors!
Registration to attend is not required unless you want to participate in the program – see below!
HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM
All children ages PreK – 5th grade are invited to participate in singing and a nativity play.
- Age groups: Children will be split into PreK-K, 1st-3rd, 4th-5th groups.
- Rehearsals: Nov. 28, Dec. 5, and a dress rehearsal on Dec. 11. All rehearsals will start after the 11:15 am service, and lunch will be served. Rehearsals will run from 12:30-2:00 pm.
- Singing: Each group will work on one song, which will be sent home beforehand for children to practice.
- Nativity Play: We will have a nativity play narrated by the scripture on the birth of Jesus. PreK-K will be acting this out and a few 1st-5th graders will read the scripture.
No auditions – everyone is welcome and will sing together!
Our worship leader Mitchell Downing will be coordinating a middle school acapella group to perform as well, which will include several rehearsals. Please contact Mitchell Downing if your middle schooler is interested in participating and for more information!
The Cherrydale Adult Choir has recently been relaunched and this event will be its first performance! All are welcome to participate.
