Our mission is to make disciples who spread a passion to love God and people above all else. This mission is based on Jesus’ command to love God and people (Matthew 22:37-40) and to make disciples among all people (Matthew 28:18-20).
Cherrydale was established in 1913 as a result of the prayer and planning of several families who first held services in a rented room on the “main road through Arlington” (now Lee Highway). While we were founded as a Southern Baptist Church, we’ve been an independent evangelical church since 1932 and are affiliated with the National Association of Evangelicals. Three traits have marked Cherrydale throughout our history:
- Biblical Authority – Maintaining faith in the Bible as God’s word;
- Gospel Centrality – Centering our lives around the Gospel (good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection); and
- Global Missions – Spreading the Gospel to others around the world.
