It’s Shoebox Time!

Collection Season at Cherrydale: October 30-November 20

For 17 years, Cherrydale Baptist Church has been filling shoeboxes with gifts and prayers for children around the world through Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a ministry of Samaritan’s Purse. These gifts are provided to trained international church leaders to share the gospel, disciple children, and build the local church. Since 1993, over 198 million children in over 170 countries and territories have learned about Jesus via shoeboxes!

There are three ways you can participate at Cherrydale!

1. Pack Your Own Shoeboxes

Starting October 30, visit the OCC Table in the GO Center to pick up free shoeboxes & info about the ministry. Each shoebox should be accompanied by a $10 tax-deductible donation to cover ministry expenses, such as teacher training materials and student gospel booklets. Activate the QR Code on your shoebox label to find out where your gift is sent!  Shoeboxes will be collected at Cherrydale through November 20 at 12 pm.

2. Build a Shoebox Online

These $25 gifts are specifically targeted for hard-to-reach countries (where it is difficult to share the gospel for religious, cultural, or customs reasons); however, these gifts offer local believers a sensitive way to initiate ongoing relationships with those who may not know Christ.

You can choose the age of the boy or girl, which gifts are packed, and upload a personal note and pic. All the fun and none of the shopping! You can also simply load your tax-deductible donation and have boxes packed for you. Your $25 includes the $10 ministry expense donation.

3. Donate to Our Fundraising Page for OCC

Support the Youth Ministry’s goal of packing 200 shoeboxes by supplying the $10 tax-deductible ministry expenses donation for their gifts. We’ve rounded up new, high-quality supplies and Children’s Ministry is preparing pencil pouches and craft kits to fill the boxes. It’s a church-wide endeavor!
