As one countertop said to the other, “Do you think people take us for granite?” If you’re like me, there are a lot of people you take for granted at church, simply because they do their faithful acts of service without our need to think about them. I’d like to shine a spotlight on some of them who serve in our Worship Ministry.
Our Greeter Ministry is led by Alan Gion and Helga Schoeman. They oversee those who make friendly first impressions on the many guests who visit our church. They are also quick to assist those of us who have been here for a while.
Our Info Center is coordinated by Yvonne Reed. These folks’ task is to provide a wide variety of information about our church programs and our building—and many other requests for info—to anyone who asks.
Our Usher Ministry is ably overseen by Dave Kapaldo and Andy Gallion. Dave writes a truly edifying email to the ushers each week as they prepare to serve. Thanks, ushers, for continuing to serve us faithfully and well.
One of our invisible ministries is Communion Preparation. Daniel and Tracy Pierson, who have faithfully prepared first Sunday Communion for a long time, are “retiring” from this ministry. Thanks, Daniel and Tracy, for your diligent service. I am delighted that Jeff and Melisa Clarke have agreed to replace the Piersons, effective August 4. William and Sunny Sung, who prepare Communion for the 3rd Sunday, and Steve and Allison King, who serve as back-ups, round out this faithful and effective team. Steve and Allison have also been involved in this ministry for a considerable length of time.
Our team of Baptism Assistants are led by Jim and Barbara Faist. This group provides on-site support to people being baptized. As far as I know, this is one of the few ministries that generates laundry!
Thanks to all of you who labor in the non-musical areas of our Worship Ministry. Your humble service may often go unnoticed, but it is seen by the One we seek to exalt through our faithfulness to Him and His Church.
