Dear Cherrydale Family,
Following the announcement that God is calling the Gibert family to Houston—where Matt will serve as a lead pastor—the Elders have officially begun the search process for our next Associate Pastor of Teaching and Shepherding.
As announced in church, that search process begins with the assembling of a search committee made up of Cherrydale members who will prayerfully review resumes, conduct interviews, and put forward qualified candidates to the Elders for their review.
The search committee includes Mark Dronfield, Julie Gangei, Paul Horrocks, Rachel Kinder, Allison King, Cindy Lord, Tom Oostdyk, Amber Rankin, Paul Seong, Ella Sesay, Peter Vaselopulos, Jeremy Wong, and Mike Danylak.
This week, the search committee held our first meeting. It included dedicated time to get to know each other better, review the job description, discuss the search process, and pray together. The search is beginning with an internal evaluation of qualified church members to see if God is calling someone from within our body to this role. At the meeting, we decided to take the next few weeks to pray as we begin this process. We are eagerly anticipating what God will do.

- For the man God is calling to serve as our next associate pastor—that God would prepare his heart to lead our church family.
- For the Gibert family as they get ready to move to a new city and transition to a new church family.
- For the search team and the Elders as we seek God’s will and wisdom in this process.
- For our church family as we begin a new search and time of transition.
